We strive to share best practice and work in cohesive, collaborative and innovative ways. Our ethos is 'Better Never Ends'.
As a Trust we truly value the success of every child and we place the sharing of excellent education practice at the core of this value. Professional development, challenge and support are at the heart of ensuring our staff are some of the finest teachers so they can deliver outstanding teaching.
About the role:
Mayfield School is looking for two experienced, positive and flexible teaching assistants with relevant EYFS qualifications to join our team. Our school is a special school for 315 pupils aged between 3 and 19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism.
The school is split across two sites - Wheeler Street in Lozells (co-located with Holte School and Lozells Junior and Infant School and Nursery) and Heathfield Road in Handsworth. The EYFS department, currently made up of two class groups, is based at Mayfield’s Heathfield Road site.
At Mayfield School, teaching assistants are valued and appreciated as the largest workforce group in our organisation. Teaching assistants have a key role in supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning. This is a joyful and rewarding job and one where you can really make a difference to the lives of young people and their families.
We are looking for people who can role model positive attitudes and behaviours, have experience of working directly with children or young people in an EYFS setting and who are willing to work with others as part of a strong team.Opportunities for networking and collaboration with other EYFS colleagues across Education Impact Academy Trust are provided alongside regular tailored CPD opportunities.
Please read the job description and person specification carefully before deciding to apply.
A recent Welbee staff survey showed Mayfield as being in the top 20% of schools, showing that risks of work-related stress and staff wellbeing are effectively managed and controlled. Our teaching assistants tell us that they value the in-house training offered by the school and welcome the professional development opportunities available to them.
We are the only Trust to provide SEN Allowances to ALL roles who work with students, including Teachers, TA’s, Care Assistants, Pastoral Care, Guides and Drivers.
If you are determined, hardworking and think that working at our Trust might be for you, then we would love to hear from you.
