Passionate about food safety but unable to commit to a full-time role? We have just the job for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and fully qualified Food Safety Officer to join our team in a part-time capacity (26 hours, working pattern to be discussed).

The role

Your role will include:

Food hygiene inspections and other official controls

Food hygiene and food premises complaint investigations

Food law enforcement

Sampling

Infectious disease investigation

Port Health Authority duties (ship sanitation inspections)

Quayside inspections of Boston’s fishing fleet

Official shellfish controls

You will be working in the Environmental Health team as part of the wider Regulatory Directorate.

About you

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual with a commitment to deliver top quality regulatory services.

As a Food Safety Officer, you will:

Have achieved the baseline qualification (Higher Certificate in Food Control) or equivalent.

Have experience of carrying out official food safety controls in a local authority environment.

Manage a varied workload.

Have the knowledge and skills to take enforcement action where appropriate.

Work as part of a wider team who are committed to providing excellent services for our residents.

Hold a full UK driving licence.
