Summary
Why join Shand Higson?
Shand Higson has been serving customers since 1828, building a reputation for quality products, technical expertise and dependable service. From our Knowsley base, we supply adhesive tapes, packaging materials and specialist solutions to customers across the UK and worldwide.
Since 2018, we have been proudly employee owned. Our values - Teamwork, Accountability, Performance, Employee Owned and Simplicity - guide how we work and serve customers. Our people have a stake in the business, a voice and the opportunity to share in its future.
The opportunity:
You will be trained to set up, operate and maintain tape slitting and conversion machinery, turning adhesive tape logs into accurately cut, labelled and packaged finished rolls. You will also support warehouse and factory operations, helping goods move safely and efficiently from receipt through to despatch.
This varied role suits someone who enjoys practical work. You will learn how our processes, machinery and materials fit together, take ownership, work as a team and help make work safer, simpler and more efficient.
Training and progression:
In-house and external training will be provided where required to support your development and continued competence. You will have opportunities to work alongside colleagues in other departments, broaden your understanding of the business and build the skills and experience needed for future progression.
For those who show the right ability, reliability and commitment, this role offers a genuine route forward within the business - for example progressing from Slitting Operator into Team Leader, then Supervisor, and on into wider management roles as your skills and experience grow.
