Summary
Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Physician Associate looking to develop your skills within a unique and rewarding specialist mental health setting?
We are looking for a Band 7 Physician Associate to join our multidisciplinary team at Ardenleigh MSU CAMHS, supporting the delivery of high-quality mental and physical healthcare for young people requiring care in a secure inpatient environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Consultant Psychiatrists, nursing colleagues, allied health professionals and wider partner agencies to provide holistic, safe and person-centred care.
The role offers a varied and rewarding mix of clinical assessment, physical health review, MDT working, service development, clinical governance and opportunities to build experience in forensic and adolescent mental health. You will be supported to develop your skills in mental state examination, physical healthcare, risk awareness and collaborative treatment planning, while contributing to the ongoing development of an innovative and compassionate service.

The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team at Ardenleigh MSU CAMHS to support the delivery of safe, effective and holistic care for young people within a secure inpatient setting. Under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, they will undertake regular patient reviews, contribute to mental and physical health assessments, support treatment planning and assist with the coordination of care.
A key part of the role will be supporting the delivery of physical healthcare, including assessment, investigations, follow-up and liaison with the GP, nursing colleagues, allied health professionals and acute hospital services where required. The post holder will also contribute to MDT handovers, supervision, clinical governance, audit, service improvement and health promotion activity.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in adolescent and forensic mental health, Mental State Examination, physical healthcare and collaborative care planning, while working within a supportive and innovative specialist NHS service.
