Are you a consultant psychiatrist who wants to influence care at scale without losing the clinical work that gives medical leadership its credibility? North London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate and delivery-focused Associate Clinical Director to join the leadership of its Community Care Group.
This combined post offers four protected PAs for a clearly delegated leadership portfolio and six PAs in a defined General Adult community psychiatry Consultant Psychiatrist Role. The clinical base may be in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield or Haringey, drawn from the Royal College of Psychiatrists Approved Jobs available at the time of recruitment. We will seek to match service need with the successful candidate’s expertise, interests and development goals.

• Act as a visible and credible medical leader for a defined Community Care Group portfolio, translating Trust strategy into measurable improvements for service users, carers and staff.
• Share responsibility for quality, safety, clinical governance, service performance, access, workforce and responsible use of resources, working through collective leadership.
• Strengthen medical engagement, recruitment, retention, job planning, professional development and succession planning across the portfolio.
• Sponsor service redesign and pathway improvement across borough, primary care, local authority, voluntary-sector and other Trust interfaces.
• Use data, learning from incidents and service-user experience to identify variation, reduce inequalities and support reliable delivery.
• Deputise for the Clinical Director within an agreed scope and contribute to Trust-wide medical leadership.
• Provide high-quality consultant input and clinical leadership in the agreed General Adult community service.
