As a Refuel Section Supervisor in our Airfield Engineering and Support Services (AESAS) team, you’ll help deliver safe, compliant, and effective aviation fuel services in support of military and civilian aircraft operations. Working in a highly regulated environment, you’ll supervise the coordination of vehicles, equipment, and drivers while supporting critical operational activity at RNAS Yeovilton.

By helping to maintain fuel quality, operational readiness, and safety standards, you’ll contribute to services that support Defence capability and create a positive impact. What you’ll do as a Refuel Section Supervisor

- Supervise and coordinate refuelling operations, vehicles, equipment, and drivers to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

- Carry out fuel-related activities, including aircraft refuelling, fuel testing, contamination checks, and bulk fuel installation inspections.

- Support the delivery of aviation fuel services in line with customer requirements, contractual commitments, and regulatory standards.

- Maintain training, competency, and currency records for operational activities and specialist equipment.

- Monitor hazards, identify risks, and support the reporting of engineering, safety, and near-miss events.

- Work closely with the Refuel Senior Supervisor and Engineering Support Manager to drive operational performance and continuous improvement.

Does this sound like you?

- You hold relevant vocational driving qualifications for operating refuelling vehicles and equipment.

- You have experience of fuel quality assurance, fuel testing, and contamination control processes.

- You understand Health and Safety requirements, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and quality practices.

- You’re confident using computer systems to maintain accurate operational records and asset information.

- You have knowledge of aviation operations, airworthiness requirements, and working within a regulated operational environment.

- You can work effectively under pressure, prioritise competing demands, and build trusted relationships with colleagues and customers.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, you will need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
