Summary

B3 JD attached To welcome clients attending the centre and deal with face-to-face enquiries from the public about the range of services available To greet service users and visitors in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner To assist with the registration of clients using the electronic patient record system and department booking guidance including providing information via the phone and other communication methods To set up reception, waiting and clinical areas, maintaining and recording cleanliness standards and contributing to the smooth running of service To ensure clinical and public areas are adequately stocked with clinical supplies, stationary and client information and coordinate stock management across all Integrated Sexual Health Clinics where appropriate Participate in the smooth coordination of stock management across all Integrated Sexual Health Clinics as instructed To take receipt of urine samples and swabs with due regard to infection control and departmental protocols. Carry out the accurate and appropriate labelling, preparation and storage, and arrange transportation of specimens and samples To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues, reporting areas of concerns to a clinician To accurately record and amend client information to acceptable data quality standards using the manual systems in place and any new electronic systems as they are introduced To accurately record and collate statistical data in the form of client attendance/activity and centre establishment levels To ensure that the all operational areas are tidy at all times To liaise with clinical and other staff as required to ensure the smooth running of the centre and to understand the importance of team work To ensure that telephone queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, and relay messages to staff accurately To participate and assist in evaluation and feedback To attend team and departmental meetings and actively participate in service improvement To assist clients who require an interpreter and to book interpreters when necessary To work with Clinical Nurse Manager to establish evidence of development in accordance with competency record and actively engaging with competence reviews and follow-up To demonstrate and distribute condoms to clients using C- Card protocol on satisfactory completion of relevant training To undertake appropriate training linked to the development of protocol led clinical tasks, for example phlebotomy training and apply to practice when competent To participate in health promotion events including targeted outreach and delivery of sexual health awareness workshops in non-clinical environments To undertake training in microscopy and apply to practice IAL DESIRABLE EVIDENCE
