We now have an opportunity to join our growing Ministerial Visits and Events team as we are looking for a talented and experienced communications professional to join us.

As part of the role, you will help deliver an outstanding programme of visits and events that delivers for our Ministers, strengthens stakeholder relationships and creates excellent media opportunities. This will require regular travel around the UK for visits, events and recces, as well as overnight stays.

You will need to be a confident and dynamic leader, who can work at high standards and thrive under intense pressure to tight deadlines.

As well as this, you will have direct regular face to face contact with the Ministerial team. You therefore need to be able to confidently advise Ministers, Special Advisers and other key senior colleagues on visits and events while also developing strong relationships across the department and Whitehall.

The role is fulltime and will be based in Caxton House, London.

  • Plan and deliver a strategic programme of high-quality visits and events for Ministers. You will be required to multi-task multiple visits/events at any one time.
  • Compile and coordinate written materials to a high standard and tight deadlines including ministerial briefings, itineraries, and proposals.
  • Build relationships with a vast number of internal and external stakeholders to ensure visits and events are aligned to and deliver on ministerial communication priorities.
  • Ensure visits are created with media and communication objectives in mind.
  • Maintaining a knowledge of the wider political landscape, upcoming media announcements and ministerial and governmental priorities.
  • Attending visits to deliver on the ground, including conducting recces prior to the visit.

Please Note: Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be required to work full time hours. Out of hours working and regular travel across the country is a key feature of this role. You must be able to accommodate overnight travel and early starts/late finishes (sometimes with late notice) to deliver visits and events.
