The Research and Development department at NNUH is growing and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a non-commercial research coordinator to join a supportive and dynamic team to help us develop our service.

This is a new role for the team and working in partnership with the existing coordinators will jointly provide a comprehensive coordinated service for all research in the Trust. As non-commercial research Coordinator you will be responsible for improving processes and ways of working to drive continuous improvement in achievement of national targets.

Our ideal candidate will need to have excellent communication skills. If you have significant experience of working in a research support environment with an understanding of NHS R&D systems, together with line management experience, we would love to hear from you.

The Non-commercial Research Coordinator has responsibility for developing and facilitating non-commercial research being undertaken at NNUH, including research registered on the NIHR Clinical Research Portfolio. They will do this by improving processes and ways of working, building relationships with key staff in other organisations as well as in NNUH.

They will monitor study set-up times against national targets, driving consistent ways of working and identifying and implementing changes in local processes to achieve key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities include:

• To facilitate necessary procedures to enable non-commercial research studies to take place

• To attend specialty meetings, raise the profile of key performance indicators and support researchers to promote NNUH as an attractive research partner

• To propose and implement improvements in systems, processes and communications to facilitate growth of NNUH research

• Identify opportunities and ways to improve processes ensuring continuous improvement in achievement of national targets for recruitment numbers, recruitment to time and target etc.
