About Heat Tech Services

Heat Tech Services is an established heating, plumbing and property services business and part of Mizzen Group.

We operate predominantly across London and the surrounding areas, delivering heating, plumbing and installation works through our own engineering team.

As the business continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our engineering team with an experienced Gas & Heating Installation Engineer who can confidently take ownership of installation work and deliver an excellent standard of workmanship and customer service.

We're looking for somebody who wants a stable, long-term position within a growing company where good engineers are valued and have the opportunity to develop alongside the business.

The Role

You'll primarily be responsible for delivering domestic heating and gas installation works, working independently while being supported by our office and operational team.

We're looking for an experienced installer rather than somebody who requires extensive technical supervision.

Typical responsibilities will include:

- Boiler installations and replacements.

- Full and partial heating system installations.

- Boiler conversions and system upgrades.

- Installation and replacement of radiators and associated heating components.

- Gas installation works.

- Heating system alterations.

- Pipework installation and modification.

- Fault identification associated with installation works.

- Testing and commissioning completed installations.

- Flushing, balancing and setting up heating systems correctly.

- Completing relevant certification and job documentation.

- Working from quotations and agreed scopes of work.

- Identifying additional works or issues and reporting these back to the office.

- Communicating professionally with customers while on site.

- Maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and cleanliness.

- Keeping accurate job information through our digital job-management system.

- Working closely with our Operations team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and profitably.

- Complying with Gas Safe requirements and all relevant health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in somebody with 6+ years' experience within the heating and gas industry who is confident undertaking installation work without constant supervision.

You should have:

- Current Gas Safe qualifications/registration appropriate to the work undertaken.

- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.

- Strong domestic boiler installation experience.

- Good knowledge of heating systems and controls.

- Strong plumbing and pipework skills.

- Experience commissioning completed installations.

- Good fault-finding ability.

- Excellent standards of workmanship.

- Good customer-facing and communication skills.

- The ability to manage your own workload and jobs.

- A professional and reliable approach.

- Good time management.

- Full UK driving licence.

- A strong understanding of health and safety.

Most importantly, we're looking for somebody who takes pride in their work, turns up when expected and gets the job completed properly.

PAYE Package

For somebody looking for permanent employment, we are offering:

£38,000–£45,000 basic salary per annum, depending on experience and capability.

The package will also include:

- Company van.

- Business fuel covered.

- Company mobile phone / required technology.

- Uniform and relevant company equipment.

- Permanent, full-time position.

- Support from an established office and operational team.

- Regular pipeline of installation and heating work.

- Opportunity to develop as Heat Tech Services and Mizzen Group grow.

Final salary within the range will reflect qualifications, experience and ability to independently deliver high-quality installations.

Long-Term Subcontractor Option

We're also open to an experienced engineer who would prefer to work with Heat Tech Services on a regular, long-term subcontract basis.

Two potential arrangements are available:

Using a Heat Tech company van:

Approximately £190–£230 per day, depending on experience and capability, with company van and fuel provided.

Using your own van:

Approximately £210–£240 per day, depending on experience and capability, with a company fuel card for authorised business fuel.

Exact subcontract terms would be agreed with the successful individual.

We are particularly interested in finding somebody who wants to work with us consistently rather than somebody simply looking to pick up occasional days.

Why Join Heat Tech?

Heat Tech Services is entering an exciting period of growth as part of Mizzen Group.

We're expanding our operational capabilities and building a strong team of engineers capable of delivering consistently high-quality work.

For the right engineer, this means the opportunity for:

- Consistent work.

- Competitive earnings.

- A company vehicle or own-vehicle arrangement.

- Strong operational support.

- Less time spent finding your own work.

- A growing pipeline of installation projects.

- Long-term stability.

- Opportunity to grow with the company.

We're interested in experienced engineers who want to become a reliable long-term part of the Heat Tech team.

How to Apply

Please apply with your CV and details of your current Gas Safe qualifications, including confirmation of your G3 qualification.

We'd also like to know a little about your recent installation experience and whether you're interested in the permanent PAYE position or long-term subcontractor arrangement.
