Full‑time | Monday-Friday | £32,000 - £40,000 DOE + Overtime
Hours of Work I Monday to Friday 0800 - 1630
Location - Milton Keynes - Covering the Buckinghamshire area
We are proud to be working with a long‑established, family‑run materials handling business who are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. Supplying a wide range of materials handling equipment, powered access, cleaning machinery and more across the UK, this company prides itself on quality and reliability. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning, servicing and maintaining forklift trucks both gas and electric and plant machinery, ensuring customers receive a professional, efficient and safe service at all times.
The Role
You'll carry out repairs, maintenance and servicing on a variety of materials handling equipment, diagnosing faults, replacing defective parts and ensuring assets remain in excellent working order. Forklift truck brands are predominantly Doosan and Mitsibushi. You will work closely with the Service Co‑ordinator, building strong relationships with customers while representing the business professionally on site.
Key Responsibilities
A typical day as an FLT service engineer will be working within the Buckinghamshire area carrying out the following duties
Repair, maintain and service materials handling equipment
Diagnose faults and repair or replace faulty parts
Request parts via PDA
Report to the Service Co‑ordinator for scheduled work
Maintain and develop strong customer relationships
Follow all service procedures and company standards
Pursue ongoing personal development and attend training as required
Adhere to all Quality, Compliance and Health & Safety policies
Support additional duties as required to meet business needs
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates are required to have the following skills and experience.
Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
Previously experience as an FLT Engineer & knowledge of FLT Trucks
NVQ in Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work to tight deadlines
Flexible, supportive and team‑focused
Good working knowledge of PDA systems and Protean
