Summary
We are looking to recruit a Chaplain within the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Chaplaincy team. The successful post holder will be prepared to work with patients, their relatives and friends, and staff and students, whatever their cultural and faith tradition, for the purpose of pastoral, spiritual and religious care.
The successful candidate will have to work independently so previous pastoral experience is essential. We are looking for someone who understands the complexities of working in a team and will enjoy the challenges of chaplaincy in an acute hospital.

As Hospital Chaplain you duties will include:
• To visit patients that have been referred to the Chaplaincy team and to be able to connect with patients staff or relatives throughout the hospital, who require support or listening ear.
• To be able to respond appropriately to people in intense emotional situations, whether they have a specific faith or not.
• To plan and conduct appropriate services such as emergency baptism and blessing services for stillborn and miscarried babies, adult and baby funerals, bedside communion and supporting families whose relatives are dying.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.
Full time: 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be expected to work one weekend in five and to take part in the on-call rota. This may involve being prepared to come in to the hospital overnight up to twice a week.
