Are you looking for your next role in education where you can make a real difference to pupils at a key stage in their learning?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming, modern two-form entry primary school in Nuneaton to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Years 5 and 6 from September 2026.

This is an exciting long-term opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, supporting pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. You'll play an important role in raising attainment, delivering targeted interventions, and helping every child reach their full potential.

The school is committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, with excellent facilities, Forest School provision, and a supportive leadership team that values staff development and wellbeing.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers to support teaching and learning across Upper Key Stage 2, helping pupils develop both academically and personally.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting teaching and learning across Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms

- Delivering targeted small-group interventions in English and Maths, including SATs preparation

- Supporting pupils with SEND and a range of additional learning needs to access the curriculum

- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement with learning

- Supporting pupils' confidence, emotional wellbeing, and independence

- Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources, and displays

- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

- Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive, inclusive learning environment

We're looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and caring individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

You'll ideally have:

- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)

- Previous experience working within a primary school setting

- Experience supporting pupils in Upper Key Stage 2

- A good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and Year 6 SATs preparation

- Experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

- Strong communication, behaviour management, and relationship-building skills

- A positive, flexible, and child-centred approach

This welcoming primary school offers a supportive and inclusive environment where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive.

You'll benefit from:

- A modern two-form entry primary school with excellent learning facilities

- Forest School provision that promotes outdoor learning and personal development

- A supportive and forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team

- Ongoing training and professional development through a respected Multi-Academy Trust

- Convenient on-site staff parking

- Long-term opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent position

- Competitive weekly pay

- Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant

- Access to free CPD and professional development opportunities

- Opportunities to work with high-quality schools across the region

If you're passionate about helping children succeed and are looking to join a welcoming and supportive primary school, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV, and one of our dedicated consultants will be in touch to discuss the next steps.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment procedures, including satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check.
