Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential?

We are currently recruiting for SEN Learning Support Assistants to join a Further Education college in The Wirral. This is a fantastic full-time temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to become a permanent member of the college team following a successful temporary period.

You will be supporting students aged 16+ with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access their education, develop their independence and overcome barriers to learning.

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with additional needs.

- Support students with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and disabilities.

- Assist students in accessing their curriculum and participating fully in college life.

- Implement individual support strategies and learning plans.

- Encourage students to develop independence, confidence and life skills.

- Work closely with teaching staff, support teams and other professionals.

- Provide appropriate support with behaviour, communication and engagement.

- Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

- Support students both inside and outside of the classroom, depending on their individual needs.

We are looking for candidates who are:

- Experienced working with young people or adults with SEND, ideally within an education, college, school, care or support environment.

- Patient, empathetic and committed to supporting students to achieve their potential.

- Confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with SEMH needs.

- Able to build positive and professional relationships with young people.

- Reliable, resilient and able to work effectively as part of a wider support team.

- Passionate about inclusive education and removing barriers to learning.

You MUST be able to provide documentary proof of a GCSE Grade C/4 or above in both English and Maths, or an accepted equivalent qualification.

Please note that verbal confirmation of your grades will not be sufficient. Evidence of your English and Maths qualifications will be required as part of the compliance process before you can be placed into the role.
