Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of a local food production company.

The Farm Engineer will report directly to the Workshop Manager and play a key role in maintaining, servicing, and supporting a wide range of agricultural equipment and machinery. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high standards of workmanship, demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, and contribute positively to the overall efficiency of the workshop and wider operation.

The responsibilities outlined below are intended to provide an overview of the role and may be supplemented by additional duties as required by management.

Duties and responsibilities

Complete all relevant documentation accurately and within required timescales.

Carry out routine servicing and maintenance, including changing fluids, lubricating components, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.

Follow all health and safety procedures and take reasonable care for your own safety and that of colleagues, contractors, and visitors.

Identify and report any faults, defects, or concerns relating to machinery or equipment to the Workshop Manager promptly.

Inspect, remove, repair, and replace machinery and components in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice.

Demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and attention to detail required to carry out tasks safely and effectively.

Plan, organise, and prioritise workloads to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard.

Assist with the development, modification, and improvement of both new and existing machinery.

Machine components and assist with the assembly and build of equipment within the workshop environment.

Test low-voltage electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, accurately recording and reporting findings.
