As a Senior Administrative Officer, you’ll be an integral part of our Social Work teams, providing essential administrative support to our District Managers whilst line managing our team of Senior Administrative Assistants. Your work will allow frontline professionals to focus on what matters most – safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you’ll work behind the scenes handling a variety of tasks that utilise both your organisation and communication skills.

You’ll spend a minimum of one day per week based at Cambridge Road, Aldershot and one day per based at Park House, Alton.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage a team of Senior Administrative Assistants, overseeing performance, workload coordination, recruitment, onboarding, training, and wellbeing.

• Drive operational excellence across the district by leading communications, overseeing project timelines, ensuring compliance, and delivering impactful events and training.

• Provide administrative support to the District Manager including diary management, meeting coordination, and general team support to ensure smooth operations.

• Prepare and maintain documentation such as reports, correspondence, court documents, and accurate databases and records.

• Handle confidential information with discretion while acting as the first point of contact for internal and external queries.

• Support financial and logistical processes by assisting with financial administration, processing invoices and payments, and organising transport for families.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in providing support and guidance to other staff members.

• Extensive administrative experience with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in IT and digital systems, including Microsoft Office and other software.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team.

• Adaptable and resilient, capable of working under pressure, using initiative, and managing competing priorities.

• Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and organisational values, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and respect.

Why join us?

• Be part of a supportive, collaborative team where your contributions truly matter.

• Receive a thorough induction to help you feel confident in your role.

• Enjoy flexible working options, including a 9-day fortnight and hybrid arrangements to support work-life balance.

• Access to Health Assured's comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme to support your physical and mental wellbeing, including 24/7 telephone support, a suite of online resources, and legal and financial advice.

• Competitive benefits package, including generous annual leave, occupational sick pay, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
