We’re seeking a motivated and dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic team delivering high-quality pharmacy services across Critical Care, Theatres, and Pain Services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with lead pharmacists and a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites, supporting a diverse patient population. Alongside developing your clinical expertise, you’ll also have the opportunity to grow your leadership and management skills through:

• Active participation in multidisciplinary ward and board rounds, promoting safe, effective, and patient-centred prescribing and medicines use.

• Involvement in clinical audits, research, and service evaluation.

• Supporting the design and implementation of new pharmacy services, guidelines, and policies.

• Assisting Lead Pharmacists and Divisions in managing medication expenditure.

• Contributing to the education, training, and supervision of pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff.

Our Trust hosts three major Intensive Therapy Units (ITUs) across St Mary’s, Hammersmith, and Charing Cross Hospitals, with approximately 95 beds and care provided to nearly 1,700 patients annually.

• Provide a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service to critical care patients.

• Ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of drugs.

• Identify and promote best practice.

• Actively contribute to the management of drug expenditure through analysis and reporting.

• Actively contribute to the management of Payment by Results (PBR) excluded drugs.

• Assist in incident reporting, investigation and implementation of actions/changes where needed.

• Assist with managing supply problems.

• Actively contribute to the development and monitoring of policies and guidelines.

• Carry out audits as required.

• Undertake training of other pharmacists on aspects of critical care.

• Undertake education and training to the pharmacy department, ICU nurses, ICU medical staff, theatres staff as required.
