We are looking for a confident and compassionate Activity Coordinator

with a passion for making a difference to join our team at Cygnet Paddocks in Widnes. 

You’ll

 be working

 

40 hours

 per week, Monday to Friday, making a positive difference to the lives of the men in our care.

This role involves working some evenings and weekend work.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for healthcare, mental health, occupational therapy support,

 and social inclusion. You will help plan and deliver meaningful activities that support independence, wellbeing,

 

recovery

 and daily living skills for the men in our care.

 

About Cygnet Paddocks

 

Cygnet Paddocks is our specialist neuropsychiatric rehabilitation hospital for men,

 

located

 in Widnes in the

 

North West

. The service provides a dedicated care pathway for men affected by

 

acquired

 brain injury or neurological conditions, where

 

behaviours

 that challenge may be the main barrier to recovery and rehabilitation.

 

The service supports the Level 1 Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Pathway for the

 

North West

, with a focus on adult males. Cygnet Paddocks has individually designed wards to support a clear and distinctive care and treatment pathway for people affected by

 

acquired

 brain injury.

 

The in-house interdisciplinary team includes neuropsychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy,

 

nurses

 and support workers, all working together to keep the individual at the heart of their care and discharge planning.

 

Cygnet Paddocks is rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission, with the Caring domain rated Outstanding.

 

Your Day-to-Day as an Activity Co-

ordinator

 

As an Activity Co-

ordinator

 at Cygnet Paddocks, you will support and enhance the care of individuals at the service by working closely with the Occupational Therapist and wider interdisciplinary team.

 

You will help plan, deliver and promote a wide range of therapeutic, recreational, social and wellbeing activities that are meaningful,

 

safe

 and person-

centred

.

 

  • Encouraging individuals to access and take part in a variety of activities,

     

    hobbies

     and therapeutic

     

    programmes

     

  • Supporting people to

     

    maintain

     existing interests,

     

    hobbies

     and social connections

     

  • Assisting the Occupational Therapist with the planning and implementation of therapy

     

    programmes

     

  • Helping to source and prepare

     

    appropriate materials

    ,

     

    resources

     and equipment for activities

     

  • Contributing creative ideas for activities,

     

    events

     and group sessions

     

  • Facilitating activities safely and in line with individual care plans, risk

     

    assessments

     and therapeutic goals

     

  • Promoting recovery, independence, social

     

    inclusion

     and community engagement

     

  • Supporting individuals to build confidence, develop daily living skills and improve wellbeing

     

  • Working collaboratively with the wider clinical,

     

    care

     and support team

 Looking for Someone Who Has

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and academically strong candidate who can bring creativity,

 

structure

 and compassion to the role.

 

  • Experience and/or a genuine passion for working in healthcare, mental health, neurorehabilitation, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, learning disability services or social care

     

  • Some knowledge or understanding of Occupational Therapy

     

  • A creative flair and the ability to plan

     

    engaging

    , meaningful activities

     

  • The confidence to work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team

     

  • Strong communication

     and

     

    organisation

     skills

     

  • A positive,

     

    patient

     and flexible approach

     

  • An interest in supporting people with complex needs and

     

    behaviours

     that may challenge

     

  • An awareness of recovery approaches, social

     

    inclusion

     care, which is desirable

     

This role may suit someone with experience as an Activity Co-

ordinator

, Activities Coordinator, Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Mental Health Support Worker, Activities

 

Worker

 or Social Care Worker.
