Summary

The Parent Infant Mental Health Service aims to support parents and carers and your baby/young child to feel safe and secure, to manage the emotional demands of infancy and new parenthood, and to build positive relationships. PIMHS have led the borough in developing integrated perinatal and parentinfant mental health services for parents and children under five and have received wide recognition for good practice and forward thinking from other professionals and services around the country. The FITS clinical team comprised of mental health professionals, will work in partnership with the Family Intervention Service of Childrens Social Care, while also maintaining strong links with core CAMHS. The aim is to ensure timely access to training, consultation, supervision, and intervention while simultaneously promoting trauma-responsive practice and supporting healthy relationships within our Tameside families.
