Summary
We are seeking 2 people to join the Data Quality team. This will support provision of a centralised function to ensure that the quality of data collected is as high as possible. The focus is the Patient Administration System (PAS), responding to routine checks and addressing user queries. Expert guidance is provided to ensure both accuracy and singularity of each patient record and activities are recorded to high quality NHS data standards. This contributes to the Electronic Patient Record that must be well maintained to ensure continuity of high quality clinical care.
You will need to have an eye for detail, be questioning and have a tenacious approach to seeing problems resolved. You will use your well-developed communication skills to share your enthusiasm for high quality standards of data and be approachable by new and experienced users of systems across the trust
· Respond to enquiries providing day to day support to a wide range of data collectors across the trust, including expert guidance to users of the Patient Administration System
· Support analytical work of a business area through the analysis of data management processes within Clinical Management Groups (CMGs) and, work in partnership with service managers and team leaders in appraising and promoting improvement in data handling techniques.
· Help to maintain quality and content of data held on UHL administrative and clinical systems through regular checking and discreet projects.
· Process data quality audit in line with national quality assurance standards & protocols.

Using detailed knowledge and being proficient in the use of the PAS, guide and coach all relevant operational staff to ensure that accurate information is obtained and recorded in a timely way.
· Function effectively in an environment of frequently changing priorities to deal with emerging issues.
· Influence improvements in data quality standards so that data collectors understand & acknowledge the importance of good quality information. Key to the role is the ability to assess and challenge established work processes and to encourage ownership of improvements and making impact on local policy.
· Work to parameters set by policies and procedures, some of which the post-holder will have assisted in developing and writing. Show a high degree of personal accountability in managing personal workload and conduct, pro-actively escalating issues to the Data Quality Service Manager to enable the teams focus to be revised as required.
