Summary

The successful candidate will be appointed on a Salaried GP contract with an agreed job plan. This is a flexible and varied clinical role comprising a combination of telephone consultations and face-to-face appointments, supported by a structured workload and the wider practice team. In accordance with the practice timetable, the GP will undertake a range of duties including: Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations. Undertaking home visits where clinically appropriate. Reviewing, authorising, and signing prescriptions, including responding to medication queries. Managing patient correspondence, clinical paperwork, referrals, and administrative tasks in a timely manner. Reviewing and actioning blood results and incoming clinical documentation electronically. Making appropriate referrals for specialist assessment and following agreed referral pathways. Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous consultation records, including appropriate coding to support QOF and clinical governance requirements. The practice operates a shared Duty Doctor rota, requiring each GP to participate approximately one day per week, with additional cover occasionally required during periods of colleague absence such as annual leave. Professional Standards and Practice Requirements The post holder will be expected to: Work within current local policy for prescribing. Action pathology results, prescriptions, and referrals promptly. Adhere to the practice staff handbook, policies, protocols, and procedures. Maintain compliance with information governance requirements, including smartcard security and data protection regulations. Follow practice protocols and clinical guidance stored on the shared systems. Work collaboratively with the practice team to support achievement of QOF targets Contribute positively to the continued success and reputation of the practice by providing high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centred care.
