We're looking for a People Advisor to join our People Services team on a 2 year fixed-term contract, supporting managers and colleagues across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of managing people-related casework and providing advice and guidance in a professional environment.

Joining a busy and supportive team, you'll have the opportunity to build on your existing knowledge and experience while making a positive impact on the colleague experience. You'll work collaboratively with managers and stakeholders across the business, helping to create a fair, consistent and supportive working environment where colleagues can thrive.

Working pattern:

This role operates on a hybrid working pattern which consists of 3 office working days and 2 days working from home. Office days can be based out of our Liverpool, Warrington or St Helens offices.

What you’ll be doing:

- Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, providing expert advice to managers and colleagues

- Supporting performance management processes, including capability, development plans and use of data and systems

- Lead on attendance management, including absence monitoring, return-to-work meetings and long-term cases

- Providing clear guidance on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice

- Build strong relationships with managers, acting as a trusted point of contact for people-related advice and support

- Working collaboratively with Housing, Assets and Corporate teams to deliver a consistent HR service

- Supporting recruitment, retention, talent development and apprenticeship programmes across the organisation

- Contributing to People Strategy delivery, corporate initiatives and transformation projects

- Assisting in identifying learning needs and sourcing appropriate training solutions

- Maintaining accurate, confidential records, ensuring data integrity and audit compliance

- Working in partnership with trade unions to foster positive and productive relationships

- Promoting value for money through efficient processes and effective use of systems

- Ensure all activity aligned with health & safety, equality and safeguarding requirements

What we’re looking for:

- Experience working in a HR or People advisory role, providing advice and guidance on employee relations and people-related matters, with a good understanding of employment legislation and people management best practice.

- Strong casework management skills, with experience managing a varied employee relations caseload, including attendance, conduct, performance, capability and other people-related matters.

- The ability to assess situations, gather information, make balanced recommendations and progress cases through to resolution in line with policies and procedures.

- Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, handle sensitive conversations and achieve positive outcomes.

- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and maintain attention to detail.

- Confidence in using a range of IT systems to maintain accurate records, produce reports and support decision-making.

- A proactive, resilient and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering a high-quality service and continuous improvement.

Interview Process:

- Candidates will be invited to attend an interview, which will include a competency-based discussion exploring relevant experience, knowledge, and skills required for the role, as well as a scenario based assessment. Interviews will take place at our Liverpool City Centre Office on the 2nd October 2026.

Additional Information:

- Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:

- Right to work verification

- Qualification certificate check (where applicable)

- Two completed references

- Occupational Health questionnaire – Fit for Work

- DBS check (if required for the role)
