What is the job role?
We have some exciting opportunities within the
Neighbourhood Enforcement
Team, You will be working under the general direction of the
Neighbourhood Enforcement Team Managersdealing with a wide range of
environmental issues such as fly tipping,littering, waste management offences, and statutory nuisance issues that affect our neighbourhoods.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a proactive, motivated and resilient individual who enjoys solving problems and making a positive difference in local communities. You will be confident dealing with a wide range of people and able to communicate clearly, professionally and sensitively, both in person and in writing.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational and investigatory skills, be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and be able to prioritise competing demands in a busy environment. We are particularly interested in people who can build positive working relationships, influence behaviour and take a practical approach to achieving compliance.
Experience in environmental crime, environmental health, housing enforcement, community safety or a similar regulatory environment would be advantageous, although we also welcome applicants with transferable investigation, compliance or enforcement skills. You should be comfortable using IT systems and preparing accurate records and reports. GCSEs in English, Mathematics and a Science subject are essential, while a degree and previous enforcement experience would be beneficial.
The role involves regular outdoor work in all weather conditions and engagement with members of the public, so we are seeking someone who is adaptable, professional and committed to delivering a high-quality public service.
