This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Child health to support the flow within Southampton Children's hospital.
As part of our team, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient flow and bed capacity across the Children's hospital, helping to ensure that patients receive the timely care in line with NHS targets.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with Matrons, clinical teams and operational colleagues. You will oversee the effective allocation of beds, responding proactively to ever changing demands and supporting the safe and timely movement of patients through the Children's hospital and regionally. Your contribution will be essential in maintaining patient safety, improving patient experience and supporting the efficient use of available resources.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient flow across Southampton Children's Hospital service, ensuring beds are used effectively and patients are moved safely and promptly to the most appropriate area of care.
Working closely with the Emergency Department, Regional Hospitals and clinical teams to support the timely admission of patients alongside ensuring the most appropriate clinical areas used to support effective patient care.
Maintaining oversight of bed capacity and anticipated demand, proactively identifying pressures and working with operational and clinical colleagues to resolve barriers to patient flow and support the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
You will need to be a clear and Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail.
Able to prioritise your own workload with minimal supervision and be able to deal with complex situations.
These are 12 hour shifts with an hour unpaid for breaks to be taken throughout the day. Below would be the required shift pattern that needs to be covered with some room for negotiation.
Week 1 - Wednesday and Friday
Week 2 - Saturday and Sunday
Week 3 - Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
Week 4 - Wednesday.
