Applications are invited for the posts of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST6+) in Gastroenterology. These posts are available to commence 04 March 2027 until 03 March 2028.

Post 1: Clinical Fellow Higher (ST6+) in Gastroenterology (IBD)

Post 2: Clinical Fellow Higher (ST6+) in Gastroenterology (Endoscopy)

These posts provide an opportunity to develop Gastroenterology practice in a state of the art Endoscopy facility at one of the world’s leading teaching hospitals, or in IBD care working alongside a world leading team of expert IBD clinicians.

The IBD post holder will have the opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of management of a cohort of around 7,000 patients, including IBD clinics, Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, joint clinics with colorectal surgeons, cross-specialty MDTs, IBD endoscopy and clinical trials. Working closely with IBD Consultants, the successful candidate will also support the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team, including Specialist Nurses, Pharmacists, Dietitians, Psychologists and dedicated Administrative Staff.

Successful applicant for the Endoscopy post will have the opportunity to develop skills in Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy through service, training and research lists. The primary focus is Therapeutic Endoscopy training. Subject to individual interests and departmental capacity, training may be available in EUS, ERCP or Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, including EMR, Dilatation, Botox injection, stenting, Balloon Enteroscopy and Video Capsule Endoscopy.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
