Summary

This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role at the heart of Her Cadence, our creative peer support and co-design programme for girls and young women aged 14 to 25.

You might start by preparing the space with facilitators and welcoming participants as they arrive. During a session, you could be checking in with a young woman who needs some additional support, helping the group shape ideas for future activities, coordinating a visiting mentor, or making sure a creative or wellbeing session runs safely and smoothly.

Outside of sessions, you may follow up with participants or parents, update programme records, coordinate upcoming activities with facilitators, or capture feedback and actions for the Project Lead.

Her Cadence is built with girls and young women, not simply delivered to them. Your role is to provide the consistency, relationships and practical coordination that allow their voices to genuinely shape the programme.

Role Overview

The Project Coordinator plays a central role in the day-to-day delivery of Her Cadence, a dedicated programme for girls and young women aged 14 to 25.

Her Cadence brings together peer support, wellbeing, creativity, mentoring, personal development and co-design. Participants are encouraged to build confidence, explore their interests, develop positive relationships and have a genuine say in how the programme develops.

You will be a consistent and trusted presence for participants, helping sessions remain welcoming, organised, safe and responsive to their needs.

This is not a counselling or therapeutic role. However, participants may discuss wellbeing, relationships or personal experiences. You must therefore be able to listen appropriately, maintain professional boundaries, recognise safeguarding concerns and follow the correct escalation procedures.

We are looking for someone who is warm and approachable, but equally organised, dependable and confident in maintaining the structure and boundaries needed for high-quality work with young people.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Coordination & Delivery

• Coordinate the practical delivery of Her Cadence sessions and activities.

• Prepare spaces, registers, materials and programme resources.

• Welcome participants and help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

• Coordinate with facilitators, mentors and visiting contributors around programme activity.

• Support positive group dynamics and respond calmly and appropriately when challenges arise.

• Ensure agreed programme actions and activities are followed through.

• Support the smooth running of events, visits, showcases and other programme activities where required.

Participant Engagement & Co-design

• Build consistent, positive and professional relationships with girls and young women participating in Her Cadence.

• Support appropriate individual check-ins with participants.

• Listen to participants' interests, goals, ideas and feedback.

• Create meaningful opportunities for participants to influence programme activities and decisions.

• Support co-design activities, participant-led ideas, events and creative outputs.

• Encourage participation without pressuring young women to disclose personal experiences or participate beyond their comfort level.

• Help participants identify relevant opportunities for personal development, leadership, volunteering and progression.

Wellbeing & Safeguarding

• Help maintain a physically and emotionally safe programme environment.

• Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding and welfare concerns.

• Follow True Cadence CIC's safeguarding, confidentiality and escalation procedures.

• Maintain clear and appropriate professional boundaries with participants.

• Record and escalate safeguarding or welfare concerns accurately and promptly.

• Work appropriately alongside specialist wellbeing partners where participants require additional support.

• Understand the limits of the Coordinator role and refer concerns or needs requiring specialist intervention.

Communication & Relationships

• Maintain appropriate communication with participants in accordance with organisational procedures.

• Build positive relationships with parents and carers where appropriate, particularly for participants under 18.

• Communicate effectively with facilitators, mentors, volunteers and programme colleagues.

• Liaise professionally with schools, referral organisations and community partners where required.

• Follow up appropriately where participants disengage or require additional support.

• Represent True Cadence CIC professionally during programme activities.

Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation

• Maintain accurate attendance, consent and participant records.

• Record programme activity, incidents and relevant observations.

• Collect participant feedback and evidence of outcomes.

• Keep programme trackers and digital records accurate and up to date.

• Provide clear and timely updates to the Project Lead.

• Support monitoring, evaluation and funder reporting by maintaining reliable programme evidence.
