Workshop Manager - Kent - £55,000 + Benefits
The Job:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workshop Manager to take responsibility for the maintenance, repair and availability of our machinery, vehicles and equipment. This is a hands on management role, responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and to a high standard, helping to keep vineyard operations running smoothly throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing first level repairs and preventative maintenance on machinery, vehicles and equipment
- Maintaining Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and machine availability above 95%
- Designing and developing a suitable workshop for equipment maintenance, including ordering and supervising workshop construction
- Creating and managing preventative maintenance schedules and maintaining accurate maintenance and traceability records
- Cleaning, dismantling and preparing machinery and equipment at the end of the season where appropriate, ensuring machines and parts remain intact and ready for future use
- Servicing and maintaining workshop tools and modifying tools where required to improve their effectiveness
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop at all times
- Managing workshop inventory and stock, ensuring equipment and parts are correctly stored and easily accessible
- Carrying out periodic stock and equipment counts and keeping quantities accurately updated on the company's business management system
- Purchasing equipment, parts and materials with a focus on quality and value for money, obtaining three quotations where possible
- Managing the workshop within budget and monitoring expenditure on repairs, maintenance and equipment purchases
- Working closely with operational teams to minimise equipment downtime and ensure machinery is available when required
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
The Candidate:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and strong administrative skills
- Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory position
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks within agreed timeframes
- A practical understanding of machinery maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Good stock, inventory and cost-management skills
The Package:
- Salary up to £55,000 DOE
- Opportunity to develop and improve workshop facilities, processes and maintenance standards while working closely with the wider operational team

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
