Are you looking to develop your career in Cyber Security? Social Security Scotland is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Analyst to join our Digital Risk & Security team and help protect the systems, services and data that support people across Scotland.
As part of our Security Operations function, you will play an important role in monitoring and improving the organisation's security posture, helping to identify and respond to cyber security threats, vulnerabilities and security risks. You'll gain hands-on experience across a range of security disciplines, primarily in identity and access management (IAM), while supporting other security capabilities such as vulnerability management, endpoint security and security monitoring, all whilst working in a modern cloud-based environment.
We're looking for someone with experience of managing day-to-day Identity and Access Management (IAM) activities and a good understanding of vulnerability management within a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

Cyber Security Analysts are responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and information systems used by government and Partners Across Government.
• Manage day-to-day IAM activities and ensuring that this is in line with relevant security policies and procedures.
• Communicates information security risks and issues to business managers and others.
• Contributes to vulnerability assessments – primarily relating to IAM.
• Applies and maintains specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments.
• Takes action to respond to security breaches in line with security policy and records the incidents and action taken.
• Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution.
• Investigates problems in systems, processes and services. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
Main Duties:
• Monitor, analyse and respond to security intelligence to reduce risks within Identity and Access Management (IAM), maintain auditing and compliance, support IAM practices, and help strengthen security around access control and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
• Have a good technical security operational background with familiarity of security tooling such as IAM, vulnerability management tooling, anti-virus and mobile device management technologies.
• Assist users in defining their access rights and privileges. Perform standard security administration tasks and resolve security administration issues.
• Communicate information security risks and issues to business managers and others.
• Perform security risk and IAM security assessments, and business impact analysis for small information systems.
• Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution.
• Apply and maintain specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments.
