Summary

Joining our Rough Sleeping Drug & Alcohol Treatment Team as a qualified and experienced Social Worker, you will use a strengths-based approach to manage a complex caseload of individuals experiencing rough sleeping. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, identify support needs, and promote wellbeing and independence through regular reviews and person-centred support planning.

You will also provide supervision and practice guidance to a Senior Case Worker, triaging safeguarding referrals, and making informed decisions on complex cases. Applying key legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and Mental Health Act, you will help ensure effective, responsive, and person-centred outcomes for those you support.

What you’ll do:

• Provide practice leadership and case oversight by supervising a Senior Case Worker, offering guidance on complex cases, assessing risk, and making safeguarding and case management decisions.

• Manage referrals and safeguarding concerns by triaging phone, online and safeguarding referrals, resolving enquiries, identifying risks, and escalating concerns where necessary.

• Build effective partnerships and deliver assessments through strong stakeholder relationships, information sharing, and conducting carers', wellbeing and mental capacity assessments.

• Maintain high professional standards by producing accurate records and reports, participating in training and quality assurance activities, keeping specialist knowledge up to date, and maintaining professional registration.

What we’re looking for:

• Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England (SWE). Due to the needs of the team and role, we’re unable to consider Newly Qualified Social Workers for this post.

• A sound understanding of how to apply a strengths-based approach.

• Understanding of social work issues, legal frameworks and social services’ statutory duties.

• Understanding of and ability to apply the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983).

• Commitment to demonstrating our values and behaviours, showing compassion, empathy and respect.
