As a Part-time SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals

- Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of your students

- Assisting with the implementation of behaviour management strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment

- Monitoring and documenting student progress, contributing to the development of individualised education plans (IEPs)

- Encouraging and supporting students' social, emotional, and personal development, helping them to build confidence and develop essential life skills

- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in special education

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A relevant educational qualification, such as a teaching assistant certificate or equivalent

- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a SEN/SEMH setting

- A strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the personal and academic growth of every student

- Flexibility and adaptability, as you may be required to work with a diverse range of students and support a variety of learning needs
