About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Senior Floor Cleaning & Maintenance Specialist to join our professional cleaning and restoration team. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of cleaning, maintaining, restoring, and protecting a wide variety of hard floor surfaces to the highest industry standards.

As a senior member of the team, you will not only carry out specialist floor care services but also provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to other team members, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deep clean, maintain, polish, and restore a range of hard floor surfaces.
  • Assess floor conditions and recommend suitable cleaning, maintenance, and restoration solutions.
  • Strip, seal, polish, and protect flooring using specialist equipment and products.
  • Carry out scheduled and reactive floor maintenance services.
  • Operate and maintain professional floor cleaning machinery.
  • Lead, supervise, and support junior team members on site.
  • Allocate tasks and ensure work is completed to company standards and client expectations.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to team members where required.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional client relationships.

Essential Skills & Experience

Candidates should have proven experience cleaning, maintaining, and restoring:

  • Marble floors
  • Terrazzo floors
  • Wooden floors
  • Ceramic and porcelain floors
  • Natural stone surfaces
  • Vinyl and other hard floor finishes

The successful candidate will also have:

  • Extensive knowledge of specialist floor cleaning products, sealers, and protective coatings.
  • Experience using professional floor maintenance machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling tasks.

  • Ability to safely operate, transport, and manoeuvre heavy floor cleaning machinery, restoration equipment, and tools.

  • Comfortable working in environments where lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials is a regular part of the role.

  • Knowledge and understanding of manual handling and health and safety procedures.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).

 

Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be physically fit and capable of working with specialist floor maintenance machinery and heavy equipment. The role involves regular manual handling, moving equipment between sites, and working in a variety of commercial and residential environments.

Desirable Skills

The following skills would be highly advantageous:

  • Carpet deep cleaning and stain removal
  • Wood floor restoration and sanding
  • French polishing
  • Stone restoration and diamond polishing
  • Grout cleaning and restoration
  • Mastic application and repair work
  • Experience working in, hospitality, healthcare, retail, commercial and high-end residential environments

Leadership Requirements

As a senior member of the team, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage and supervise floor cleaning operatives and technicians.
  • Plan and coordinate work activities on site.
  • Ensure work is completed to company and client standards.
  • Support the training and development of junior team members.
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and health and safety compliance.
