Therapy Assistant Practitioner (B4) Role

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatients

Fixed Term- 9 months ending12 May 2027

Due to an upcoming period of maternity leave, we have a rare opportunity to join our innovative MSK Outpatient team as a fixed term, part-time (24.75hrs) Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner. 

The MSK team provides an outpatient service at Peterborough City and Stamford Hospitals. The team receives referrals from within the Hospital, providing a high-quality service utilising a fully equipped spacious gym.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with

-          Excellent communication and organisation skills

-          A desire to improve and develop

-          Confidence to lead group sessions independently

-          Ability to work both within a team and autonomously

Main duties

Your role will incorporate both clinical and non-clinical work across both sites

-          Treating MSK patients 1:1 and in a group setting

-          Documenting clinical encounters

-          Stock taking, general housekeeping and administrative duties

You will receive weekly supervision and monthly protected CPD time, and get to enjoy working in a fun environment with a fantastic team.

Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively.

To undertake assessments and treatments for patients that have been screened by a Therapist and deemed appropriate for Therapy Assistant Practitioner intervention with case management advice available via indirect and direct contact with a registered therapist.

· To carry own caseload of non-complex patients assessing, according to competencies, and devising and implementing treatment programmes within a framework of protocols and/or competency.

· To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency teams with the aim of supporting timely discharge.

· To enable patients, their families and carers in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by providing treatment programmes developed and monitored by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in supervision.

· To deliver safe, efficient and effective patient focussed care in line with local standards.

· To be actively involved in the in-service training programme, including the mentoring and training of Band 2 and 3 therapy assistants and supporting students as required.

· To participate in the provision of 7-day services as required.

· To adhere to the Trusts values and behaviours.
