Summary

Are you

  • skilled at crafting engaging content across multiple channels?
  • able to build compelling communication strategies which deliver real business outcomes?
  • confident in spotting stories which connect with people?

If so, come and join us as a Digital Engagement Manager for Digital and Transformation Group (DTG) where you’ll be part of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the UK’s biggest public service department which is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy for more than 22 million customers.

With more than 8,000 colleagues, DTG is central to transforming DWP's digital services to ensure customers can access services easily, how and when they want to.

As a Digital Engagement Manager, you’ll be confident in providing strong, strategic communications advice and creating, implementing and measuring communications campaigns, aligned to the Government Communication Service’s OASIS framework.

In this Digital Engagement Manager role, you’ll work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues across and beyond DTG to turn complex issues into clear messages and actions that people understand.

Working alongside a wider team, you’ll be responsible for creating innovative content for a variety of channels and products including internal online sites, newsletters, email, PowerPoint presentations, infographics and videos.

In this role, you’ll champion internal communications and engagement principles and keep up to date with the latest best practice, trends and tools available.

Measuring and evaluating effectiveness of internal communications is another vital aspect of the work in this role, ensuring all communications and engagement activity is based on insight and measured against outcomes.

Based on evidence, insight and colleague feedback, you’ll act to ensure communications are timely, relevant and meet the needs of both the department and the audience, including understanding and being a champion for accessibility.

The following industry memberships would be helpful in this role, though they are not essential:

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing
  • Chartered Institute of Public Relations
  • Government Communications Service - Practitioner level
  • Institute of Internal Communications
