Location: Shirebrook (NG20)

PayScale: £100 - £115 per Day

Full Time: 8.30am - 15.50pm

Contract: Full Time | Temp to Perm

The School

Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a well established SEMH specialist school. The school is a multi-site specialist provision supporting children and young people with a range of additional and complex learning needs, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Pupils are at the centre of the school's approach, with individual needs, high aspirations, and positive future outcomes forming a key part of their education. The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both 1:1 and within small groups. Building strong and trusting relationships will be key to helping pupils engage with learning, develop their independence, and make positive progress. You will work alongside teachers and the wider support team to provide personalised learning opportunities within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and complex learning needs

* Support pupils to access learning through personalised strategies linked to their individual needs and EHCP outcomes

* Encourage communication, independence, confidence, and positive engagement throughout the school day

* Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils, supporting their emotional wellbeing and personal development

* Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide a consistent approach to learning and care

Who We're Looking For

* Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or similar is preferred

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND or complex additional needs

* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach with the ability to build positive relationships

* Confidence providing individualised support and responding to a range of communication and learning needs

* A genuine commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes
