Summary
We are looking to recruitBANK Catering Assistantsto work in our on-site ‘Central Food Production Department’ and support our very successful catering team. We currently prepare and cook circa 55,000 portions of food per week, serving 4 hospitals through a 'cook-chill' operation.
The CPU is operational between 6.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Candidates must be available for work over/ during these times. Flexibility is available, provided it does not conflict with the operation requirements of the department
Candidates will be required to be ‘hands on’ and the department is a very busy environment. If you feel this is the type of role you are looking for and can bring enthusiasm and commitment to the team, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The focus of duties will be to assist the team in/across the following areas and full training will be given to successful applicants.
Food preparation duties. Helping to prepare recipe ingredients for cooking, assisting the Chefs/Cooks, packaging and sealing of finished meals and picking and packing ward orders for each meal service, through to 'cleaning duties' and 'general CPU operational duties to maintain the highest standards. All food safety principles and regulations apply.
Assist in the receipt of goods into the CPU Storage and distribution of food within the CPU and onward to all wards and other sites. Distribution in general to include delivering food pods around the hospital site using a vehicle. Maintaining safe, clean, and organised storage areas across the CPU, to include ambient rooms, cold work rooms, fridges, freezers and external waste areas.
