Summary

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Children’s Residential Manager to lead and manage a children’s residential home in Tranmere, Liverpool.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support are provided to children and young people.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with strong experience in children’s residential care, excellent people-management skills, and a genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children’s residential home.

• Ensure the safety, welfare, safeguarding, and well-being of all children and young people.

• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, stable, and supportive environment.

• Lead, supervise, motivate, and develop the residential care team.

• Ensure the home operates in line with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and Ofsted requirements.

• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans tailored to each child or young person’s needs.

• Take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection concerns, ensuring these are managed and reported appropriately.

• Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management.

• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.

• Manage staffing, budgets, and resources effectively.

• Promote a positive, therapeutic, and trauma-informed approach to care.

• Build strong working relationships with families, social workers, schools, healthcare professionals, and other external agencies.

• Drive continuous improvement and ensure the home consistently delivers high-quality care and positive outcomes.
