Summary
Millfield School is seeking a Development Swim Coach to join our successful swimming programme. This is an exciting opportunity to support young athletes within a well-established performance pathway, working as part of an experienced coaching team to deliver high-quality swimming and athlete development programmes.
What you will be doing
• Delivering coaching across the swimming pathway, including water-based and land-based sessions
• Helping swimmers develop their technique, confidence and performance
• Supporting related disciplines such as triathlon, modern pentathlon and water polo, where required
• Attending competitions as agreed with the Head of Swimming, including occasional overnight trips
• Building positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
About you
You will hold a UKCC Level 1 coaching qualification and have experience within aquatics, either as a coach, teacher or athlete. A Level 2 qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
You will also have:
• Experience coaching swimmers to at least regional championship standard
• Knowledge of long-term athlete development and British Swimming frameworks
• The ability to plan and deliver structured training sessions
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A positive and adaptable approach, recognising that athletes learn and develop in different ways
Working Hours & Salary
This is a permanent, term-time only role working 14 hours per week. The hourly rate is £14.63.
