The Role - Learning Support Assistant

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning and develop essential life skills.

You will work closely with teaching and therapy teams to provide consistent, high-quality support tailored to each learner.

Key Responsibilities

- Support pupils with autism, SLD and complex needs in the classroom

- Deliver personalised learning activities and interventions

- Assist with communication strategies, including visual aids and sensory approaches

- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement

- Support students with personal care needs where required

- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff

- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements

- Experience supporting individuals with SEN, autism, or complex needs (essential)

- Background in education, care, or support work (desirable)

- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

- Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Right to work in the UK
