Summary

The Schools, Colleges, and Outreach team within Future Students is seeking to appoint a Senior Welsh-medium and Widening Participation Outreach Officer to lead, coordinate and deliver the University's widening participation and Welsh medium student recruitment activity.

Working under the leadership of the Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager, the post-holder will provide strategic and operational leadership for widening participation and Welsh medium initiatives,

coordinating programmes and projects that support the University's recruitment objectives, Widening Participation Strategy and Fee and Access Plan.

A key element of the role will be to develop, coordinate and evaluate targeted outreach programmes, events and recruitment activity, whilst maintaining and strengthening strategic relationships with

schools, colleges, community organisations, widening participation initiatives and key stakeholders. The post-holder will work collaboratively with teams and programmes such as Reaching Wider to support

effective approaches to widening participation and learner engagement. They will also lead the University's Welsh medium recruitment activity, working closely with the Welsh Language Unit and external partners to increase awareness of opportunities to study through the medium of Welsh. Alongside leading these specialist areas, the successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, development and delivery of wider Schools, Colleges and Outreach projects and campaigns, ensuring

activity is data-led, impactful and aligned to departmental objectives. The position will also involve the line management of Schools, Colleges and Outreach Officers, providing leadership, support and direction to ensure the successful planning and delivery of recruitment and outreach activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspiring professional who is passionate about widening participation, promoting Welsh medium higher education and supporting learners to progress

into higher education. The successful applicant will have experience of managing people, coordinating projects and delivering large-scale events and outreach programmes. They will possess excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, be confident using data and insight to inform decision-making, and have the ability to build effective partnerships that deliver measurable

outcomes.

Please note that experience of working with learners from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups, including young people and mature learners, is essential. Fluency in both Welsh and English is

essential for this role.

This position is based at Pontypridd Campus, University of South Wales; however, the post-holder will be expected to work remotely and from the University's other campuses when required. Extensive travel and regular evening and weekend working will be required.
