Summary
Job Summary You will work as an autonomous salaried General Practitioner, using your professional skills and clinical knowledge to deliver a high standard of patient-centered care within a supportive and collaborative team. The role involves a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations, alongside management of clinical correspondence and results, repeat prescribing, and home visits where appropriate. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to conduct other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population commensurate with the GMS contract, undertaking responding to patients face to face, by telephone or online as appropriate Maintain accurate, contemporaneous record on practice computer system for all patient contacts Communicate with other members of PHCT and outside agencies to plan and provide care which meets patients needs Prescribe in accordance with local and national guidance Effective management of long-term conditions Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies including those on confidentiality, equality and diversity, GDPR, health and safety and infection control Process administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks Undertake on call duties on a rotational basis Participate in advanced access hours on a rotational basis Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team Participate in mandatory training Ensure compliance with the appraisal and revalidation process Work within practice guidelines for safeguarding children and adults
