More detail about the role We are seeking to appoint dynamic, dedicated registered operating department practitioner /registered scrub ODP/nurse. The successful candidate will plan and manage the implementation of individual careprogrammes for patients undergoing surgery, working as part of the multidisciplinary team withinthe Day Surgery Unit. You will also need the flexibility to support the Day Surgery Units inExmouth and Tiverton, as well as main theatres, when required. You will play a key role indelivering high-quality care within a professional, supportive and friendly environment, with fulltraining and ongoing support provided by our Clinical Educators. This post requires enthusiasm, motivation, excellent communication skills and a commitment toworking flexibly within a multidisciplinary team. The role also offers an excellent worklifebalance, with no unsociable hours such as weekends, bank holidays or night shifts. If you are a strong communicator, have excellent interpersonal skills, are hardworking and wouldlike to make a meaningful difference within this service, we would be delighted to hear from you.Heavitree Day Case Unit comprises three theatres and a pain suite. The Royal Devon hassecured a £20m investment from NHS England to develop a Centre of Excellence for DaySurgery, which will include two additional theatres for both children and adults at the RoyalDevon and Exeter Hospital (Heavitree). The Heavitree Day Case Unit provides a wide range of day case surgical procedures acrossmultiple specialties, including Upper GI, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Urology, ENT (Adults andPaediatrics), Maxillofacial surgery and pain procedures, including permanent spinal cord implantsurgery.
