Its work includes collecting freight from across the UK, consolidating and sorting consignments, and arranging deliveries to destinations on a next-day basis. The local operation serves Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.The roleWe are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for temporary daytime work based in Stroud. You will be responsible for carrying out safe, efficient freight deliveries and collections while providing a professional service to customers.Key responsibilities• Driving an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly• Completing planned delivery and collection routes• Loading, unloading and handballing freight• Checking consignments and delivery paperwork• Completing vehicle safety checks and reporting any issues• Following road safety, transport and company procedures• Maintaining a polite and professional approach at delivery and collection pointsSkills and qualifications• Valid HGV Class 1 licence, Category C+E• Relevant commercial driving experience• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations• Physically capable of regular handballing and manual handling• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious• Good communication and customer service skills• Able to work independently and manage time effectively• Driver CPC and digital tachograph cardBenefits• £17–£18 per hour• Paid every Wednesday• Day shifts• Temporary opportunity• Visibility to local employersIf you are an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for temporary daytime work in the Stroud area, apply today.
