Summary

Seafront Technician

Salary: Band:5 £26,473 - £28,239 per annum, pro rata, (plus 7.5% shift allowance during April-Sept)

Hours:39 hours per week April-Sept. 35 hours per week October-March.

Weekend and bank holiday work (Saturday & Sunday) from late May to mid-September

Your new role

Southsea Seafront attracts thousands of visitors each year. As a Seafront Technician you will undertake a variety of maintenance, operational and support tasks across the seafront, parks, play areas and other council facilities. The post includes responsibility for splash pool operations, event support, repairs, inspections and customer service.

This is a varied, outdoor, hands-on role that combines maintenance, operational support, pool plant operation, event support and public engagement across Portsmouth's seafront and open spaces. Extensive customer service skills are essential as the role is public-facing.

Who is the person summary:

With strong customer service and communication skills, you will have a full clean driving licence and the ability to drive a large vehicle. You will have practical carpentry, maintenance and repair skills and be physically capable of lifting and moving equipment. Flexible and adaptable you will have experience of working with the general public and be able to use your initiative with good problem solving skills. An STA Level 3 in Pool Plant Operations is desirable although training will be provided if required.
