Summary
Project Manager - Testing & Certification Programmes
Location: Fareham
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Employment Type: 12 month contract
Sector: Engineering / Testing / Defence / Aerospace (ideal but not essential)
A leading organisation in the testing and engineering sector is seeking an experienced
Project Manager to oversee complex technical projects across environmental testing, EMC, vibration, mechanical shock, battery testing and product qualification programmes. This role requires strong commercial awareness, excellent customer management skills and the ability to deliver multiple projects on time, within scope and within budget.
You will act as the primary interface between customers and technical teams, ensuring project plans are robust, risks are managed, and deliverables are completed accurately to support qualification programmes and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from initiation through to final report delivery
- Manage customer expectations and maintain strong client relationships
- Produce detailed project plans, forecasts and progress reports
- Ensure projects meet contractual timelines, scope and budget
- Coordinate internal resources, subcontract testing and specialist equipment
- Resolve issues affecting workflow, scheduling or profitability
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing through compliant project delivery
- Support continuous improvement and contribute to operational efficiency
Ideal Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Project Manager within engineering, testing or technical environments
- Defence or Aerospace project experience highly beneficial but not essential
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance technical and business needs
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation and problem‑solving skills
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management capability
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Self‑driven, proactive and adaptable to change
