Summary
The Role
Research and Innovation Services are seeking a Senior Administrator who enjoys working in a varied role. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a broad range of administration activities. The successful candidate will be employed to support Perinatal Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing work programme of the NIHR Inequalities Challenge: Maternity Disparity Consortium which is led by Professor Hora Soltani in the School of Health and Social Care. This provides an opportunity to assist in the design of systems, processes and activities for this two-year research programme funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and led by Sheffield Hallam University.
Administrative duties include support for the programme lead, governance and compliance, programme co-ordination, finance and resource oversight, funder liaison, scheduling and organising steering committee, expert advisory group, linking with communities and work package lead meetings.
To be successful in this role, candidates need excellent communication and organisational skills, manage own workload with confidence, prioritise effectively and thrive when working independently and as part of a small team. There will be opportunities for training and development within a supportive and professional team.
The Team
This role will be based in the Research Operations Team aligned to the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. The wider team delivers comprehensive and effective research management across the entire research lifecycle. This includes strategic pre-award of contract research, and post-award support for both grants and contract research, ensuring compliance with complex institutional, legal, and regulatory frameworks such as data protection, ethical governance, and contractual requirements. In addition, the team oversees the planning and delivery of research-related events, supports three REF Units of Assessment, and contributes to strengthening the broader research environment.
