Camfaud Concrete Pumps Ltd is the largest concrete pump hire company in the UK. Camfaud employs over 300 staff across various depots throughout the UK and, due to our continued expansion, we are actively seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our team at our Cumbernauld depot.

The Role

We have a large fleet of Mobile Concrete Pumps, Static Plant, HGVs and Motor Vehicles across the UK that require regular maintenance and repair.

We are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to predominantly service, maintain and repair our mobile concrete pumps and other plant equipment, while also working on HGVs and vehicles when required.

Reporting to the Operations/Service Manager, the main purpose of the role is to service and repair a wide range of plant equipment and vehicles in accordance with Company and Manufacturers' Service Schedules.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintaining and servicing Mobile Concrete Pumps, Static Plant, HGVs and Motor Vehicles.

• Carrying out scheduled service inspections, servicing and repairs in compliance with manufacturers' specifications.

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.

• Attending client sites to repair malfunctioning plant and equipment.

• Carrying out maintenance and repairs to concrete pumps and associated plant.

• Performing spot-checks on Mobile Plant to ensure operators are carrying out basic daily maintenance and reporting issues.

• Following safety and housekeeping standards both in the workshop and at customer sites.

• Maintaining knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.

• Undertaking regular maintenance procedures to ensure plant is serviced in line with company protocols.

• Following up site-based remedial work in the workshop to ensure the longevity of repairs.

• Ensuring issues that are resolved remain operational with minimum interruption to service.

• Building relationships and working effectively with contractors and clients under time-critical conditions.

• Representing Camfaud Group in a professional and knowledgeable way.

• Attending breakdowns as required.

• Any other tasks as required by the Operations Manager/Service Manager.

What We're Looking For

• Previous Plant Fitter experience.

• Experience working on mobile plant, heavy plant or construction equipment.

• HGV Fitter experience would be advantageous.

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or a relevant qualification.

• CSCS card.

• Full Driving Licence.

• HGV Licence Class 2 would be advantageous.

• Welding experience.

• Fabrication skills.

• Good knowledge of hydraulics.

• Electrical and truck lighting experience.

• Mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Travel will be required as part of the role.

HGV experience is not essential. We can provide training on our concrete pumps and equipment, allowing you to develop your skills and become an all-round Plant/HGV Fitter.

Hours

The workshop hours in Cumbernauld depot are 07:00 – 17:00 Mon- Fri, 07:00-13:00 Sat if required.
