Salary: £140 - £220 per day

Can you deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum while adapting your teaching to meet individual learning and SEMH needs?

Do you have a subject specialism and the confidence to take responsibility for leading and developing a subject area?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision in Sefton supporting pupils aged 11-16 at Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education, including pupils who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion. The setting provides a personalised curriculum and enrichment programme, with an ethos centred around inclusion, communication, aspiration and nurture, helping pupils to develop resilience, self-esteem and positive relationships.

The school is looking to take on a passionate SEMH Teacher from September on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position for the right SEMH Teacher. The successful SEMH Teacher will need to confidently teach across the curriculum, adapt learning to address gaps in pupils' knowledge and support positive behaviour, while a subject specialism and the ability to lead and develop a subject area would be highly desirable.

The successful SEMH Teacher will have:

    • QTS or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification

    • Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs

    • The ability to confidently teach across the curriculum at KS3 and KS4

    • A subject specialism with the ability to lead a subject area is desirable

    • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

    • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching
