Summary

Post Title: Cleaner

Grade: SCP 3-4 andpound;24,796 - andpound;25,185 pro rata

Period: Fixed Term andndash; Term Time Only andndash; Until 16th July 2027

Hours of work: 15 hours per week (3:00 andndash; 6:00pm)

Responsible to: Headteacher and School Business Manager

Cleaner

Required Autumn Term 2026 until 16th July 2027

The governors would like to appoint a cleaner to undertake the cleaning of designated areas

across the building and ensure that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are met.

The successful candidates will have a positive attitude, enjoy the variety of tasks and challenges

that the role presents. We would expect that they would demonstrate the ability to work both as

part of a team, manage their time well and show initiative.

the successful applicants will be responsible for:

andbull; To use general electrical equipment (polishers, vacuums etc.) in a safe and proper manner, following all safety precautions including checking for damage to cables and plugs

andbull; Be responsible for appropriately cleaning any accidental spillages in school or grounds when on duty.

andbull; Assist in providing a clean, safe environment.

andbull; Ensure all waste bins are emptied, and rubbish is removed and taken to the designated disposal point to ensure the site is clean and tidy and meets with health and safety requirements.

andbull; Clean all furniture and fittings including ledges, pipe work and radiators ensuring high standard of cleanliness and hygiene are met and maintained.

andbull; Clean classrooms, corridors, office space, toilets etc

andbull; Clean all sanitary fixtures and fittings including the lavatories, washroom facilities and showers etc., ensuring all areas are maintained to the required standards of health and safety, reporting any damaged or broken facilities, or other maintenance issues to the appropriate staff member.

andbull; Carry out vacuuming in all carpeted areas ensuring correct use, carrying and storage of equipment.

andbull; Clean all other floor areas appropriately i.e. sweeping, mopping, polishing etc.

andbull; Ensure wet floor Health and Safety hazard signs are used when required to ensure wellbeing of staff/students is maintained

andbull; Assist in the whole school clean during the school closure as per the school cleaning programme

andbull; Check windows and doors are free from damage and closed after cleaning has been carried out to ensure the facilities are locked and secured appropriately

andbull; Provide cover on other sections / areas of the school when necessary
