We're working with a well-established logistics company looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team and build a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Accountant
- Support the month-end close process, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Prepare bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with the production of monthly management accounts
- Review financial data to ensure accuracy across multiple business divisions
- Prepare VAT returns and support statutory compliance
- Analyse transport, fleet and operational costs to support business performance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Support the finance team with year-end audit requirements
Skills and Competencies
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and data analysis.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with confidence when dealing with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative finance team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
