Summary

Our client, a reputable automotive workshop near Worthing, West Sussex, is seeking a highly experienced HGV Technician to join their busy and professional team. This role offers a rewarding career path for technicians dedicated to quality service and vehicle maintenance. As an integral part of the team, the HGV Technician will work on a diverse range of

heavy goods vehicles, including brands such as Scania, Volvo, DAF, Iveco, and Mercedes, providing an engaging and varied working environment.

- Competitive basic salary up to £52,000 per year, with an achievable OTE of approximately £60,000

- Overtime paid at time and a half; approximately 60 hours available per week to maximise earnings

- Working hours from 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, with rota Saturdays and flexibility with start and finish times

Duties of a HGV Technician:

- Service and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles

- Conduct diagnostics and fault finding across all makes and models

- Ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards

- Use diagnostic equipment such as Techsta, Jailtest, and DMS to identify issues

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines

- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure customer satisfaction

- Keep detailed records of work carried out and communicate findings effectively

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

- Proven experience as an HGV Technician is essential

- Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical or equivalent

- Experience working with large fleet vehicles from various manufacturers

- Strong diagnostic skills, including familiarity with systems like Techsta, Jailtest, and DMS

- Good understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements

- Industry experience within independent workshops or fleet environments is advantageous
